A series of monthly fine arts classes in visual art (2D), drama, creative movement and pottery are offered to high school special education students at Wayne Center for the Arts. Arts lessons are designed to increase self-determination skills while encouraging students to make choices, take risks and improve their self-concept through exploration in fine arts classes. The program ends with a special performance by a handicapped artist or musician to inspire students to overcome their disabilities.
