Are you fascinated with marine life and the flora and fauna of the living coral reef?  You may be interested in the Tri-County Enrichment Academy's Marine Biology Course and Field Study program!

High school sophormores, juniors, and seniors are eligible for the Enrichment Academy's Marine Biology Course and field Study program.  Marine Biology classes begin Monday evenings in January of each year and continue through April, culminating with a one-week field study in Key Largo, Florida.  Students can receive a 1/2 unit of credit through their local district's adopted course of study.  A local high school teacher, trained in the area of marine science, has taught this class for over 20 years!

The Marine biology course focuses on the flora and fauna of the living coral reef.  Students gain basic knowledge and skills in taxonomy, ecoloby, field study techniques, and research, as well as observing, collecting, and interpreting data.  Class participants are required to pass basic swimming and snorkeling standards.

The application process is held during the month of December, following an informative parent/student informational meeting.  Students begin classes in January and take the field studies trip the week of April 15-20, 2018.

Marine Lab in Key Largo, Florida is an outstanding site.  Check out their website for more detailed information at www.marinelab.org
